Knitwear major Rupa & Company, through its subsidiary Oban Fashions, has entered into an licensing agreement with US-based “Fruit of the Loom”.
A subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Company, Fruit of the Loom is said to be one of the largest manufacturers and marketers of inner-wear (for boys and girls), printable T-shirts, that cover casualwear, women’s jeans wear and children’s-wear.
Jockey and Hanes are said to be the two other major competing brands in this category, sources said. Under the licensing agreement, Oban Fashions will manufacture, distribute, advertise and sell “inner-wear and outwear products” for men, women, boys, girls and toddler, the company said in a notification to the bourses.
