Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) celebrated its 16th annual day on Saturday, April 6.
RVNL is a Miniratna (category 1) Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways. During the event held in Delhi, several shields and awards were given away to deserving individual employees and their teams.
Three teams and 26 individuals were recognised through cash awards and citations. An audio-visual cultural programme, tracing the history of Hindi cinema was screened after the awards were presented.
RVNL was incorporated in 2003. The company undertakes diverse rail infrastructure projects from concept to commissioning, raising non-budgetary resources by forming project-specific special purpose vehicles.
The company has completed projects totalling 8,838 km till date. These include new lines, doubling, gauge conversion and electrification.
In addition, it also builds workshops, bridges, institutional buildings and metro lines.
