SAIL has registered a 3 per cent rise in crude steel output for the April-September period of current fiscal over the corresponding period last year.
Crude steel production grew to 6.76 million tonnes as against 6.57 million tonnes in the same period previous year.
The hot metal production witnessed a 3.3 per cent growth at 7.17 m t as against 6.88 m t, SAIL said in a statement. Production of saleable steel was marginally up by 1.5 per cent at 6.19 m t as against 6.10 m t.
SAIL said improved techno-economic parameters in the first half of current fiscal supported the growth trend. The SAIL scrip ended 1 per cent higher at Rs 86.25 on the BSE on Monday.
