Salman Khan starrer Sultan is inching close to hitting the Rs 350-crore bracket in less than a week of its box office release. The film from the Yash Raj Film’s stable has notched Rs 180 crore in the domestic market and Rs 253 crore in the international market.
Salman, who had previously scored hits with films such as Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Bajrangi Bhaijaan last year, is now looking to break box office collections with Sultan.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Sultan continued its MAJESTIC run for the third consecutive day [Fri]… Is all set for a POWER-PACKED 5-day weekend in India.”
Interestingly, Sultan has become the biggest grosser of 2016, shattering the record of Akshay Kumar's Airlift (Rs 128 crore).
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Sultan was released in 5,450 screens worldwide on July 6. The film features Salman and Anushka as wrestlers, while Randeep Hooda, Amit Sadh and Kumud Mishra are in the supporting cast.
