In a bid to create a new category positioned between smartphones and cameras, Samsung Electronics on Friday launched its Galaxy camera. Priced at Rs 29,990, the camera has 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity with editing capabilities and will allow the user to shoot, edit and share high-quality images through this single device. India is among the first five markets where the company has launched the connected camera. “The collaboration between the mobile and digital image units has allowed Samsung to create the first connected camera using technology such as 3G and marks the next era in the history of camera evolution,” said Asim Warsi, Vice-President, Samsung Mobile. Except for voice calling, the phone offers most other features of a smart phone.
