Chinese manufacturing conglomerate Sany Group, has committed to invest $3 billion in India's renewable energy sector over the next five years.
Liang Wengen, Chairman, Sany Group said the company is keen on investing in India's housing sector, mining equipment and renewable energy sector.
"In renewable energy sector the investment of $3 billion will be over the next five years. Sany is a wind turbine manufacturer and wind farm investor. But our investment will be in all kinds of renewable energy projects. Initially we are looking at onshore wind projects in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh," said Wengen.
The company aims to develop 2,000 MW of renewable energy projects which will generate 1,000 jobs, an official statement said.
