Schmersal India is setting up a €8-million manufacturing facility at Ranjangaon near Pune.
Schmersal India is a 100 per cent subsidiary of the Schmersal Group. The company is a global major in electrical and electronic safety switchgear and systems.
Mr Sagar Bhosale, Managing Director-India Operations, said electromechanical safety devices, electronic sensors and lift switchgear would be made at the plant.
The products find application in machinery manufacturers serving food, pharmaceutical and FMCG industries, material handling original equipment manufacturers, textile industry, alternative energy sectors and automobiles and auto-ancillary industries.
The plant is expected to be operational by April 2013.
