Shree Cement today reported 26 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 274.09 crore for the quarter ended March 31 on higher income.
The cement maker had clocked Rs 217.44 crore net profit in the January-March quarter of the previous fiscal, it said in a BSE filing.
Total income of the Kolkata-based company, which has 13.5 million tonnes per annum cement capacity, grew to Rs 1,471.63 crore during the reporting quarter from Rs 1,428.03 crore a year ago.
Cement business contributed Rs 1,182.91 crore to total income and power business, Rs 427.98 crore.
Total expenses of the company also rose to Rs 1,177.92 crore from Rs 1,150.14 crore a year earlier.
Shares of the company settled at Rs 4,410.85 apiece, up 2.01 per cent over the previous closing in BSE.
