Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd (SRSL) today posted a net loss of Rs 19.39 crore in the third quarter ended on December 31, 2013 mainly due to lower income. The company had clocked a net profit of Rs 1.75 crore in the same period last fiscal.
The company’s performance took a beating as its income from operations fell by 35.50 per cent to Rs 119.11 crore in the October-December period of 2013, from Rs 184.67 crore in the same period of previous year.
Renuka Sugars operates 11 mills globally, with a total crushing capacity of 20.7 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) or 94,520 tonnes crushed per day (TCD).
Shares of the company today fell by 1.99 per cent to close at Rs 19.75 on the BSE.
