Siddharth Mallya steps down

Former liquor baron Vijay Mallya’s son Siddharth has resigned from the post of non-executive director of UB Holdings. No reason was given for the resignation by the board. UB Holdings is the holding company of Vijay Mallya’s group companies. The notice of the resignation was sent to the BSE. This comes days after Vijay Mallya took to the microblogging site, twitter asking people not to target his son. “My son Sid @sidmallya does not deserve all this abuse as he had nothing to do with my business. Slam me if you must but not a young man,” Mallya said. The 28-year-old is pursuing a career in acting.
