Siemens Home Appliances today inaugurated its exclusive retail brand store in India at Hyderabad, its 11th in India, and plans to add five more by the end of the year.
The company is offering range of washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, refrigerators and premium built-in range of kitchen appliances.
Ajaz Vakil, General Manager, Sales, Built in Appliances, Siemens Home Appliances India said, “There is growing demand for superior quality products where people are willing to pay a premium. Our products fit into that category.”
The company products are currently imported from its manufacturing units located in other markets. It is in the process of setting up a manufacturing unit for washing machines near Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
Referring to impact of depreciating rupee on the import of home appliances, he said that the company is closely watching the developments. “We may have to consider increase in prices. Several other manufacturers who import goods have either already increased or is contemplating. The demand for built in kitchen appliances is on the rise and Siemens retail stores offer energy efficient and convenience,” he said.
All these stores are being set up through a network of franchisees. The focus is on both tier I and II cities. “We will not offer products unless we have a service centre. This provides necessary assurance to buyers,” he added.
