Siemens plans manufacturing plant near Chennai

Siemens Home Appliances plans to set up a manufacturing plant for its washing machines near Chennai. Speaking to reporters after the launch of its brand store here, Ajaz Vakil, General Manager, Sales, Built-in Appliances, Siemens Home Appliances, said that details of the manufacturing plant is still being worked out. The German appliance manufacturer currently has a range of refrigerators, dish washers, washing machines, hobs, hoods and microwave ovens. “These are fully imported now,” Vakil said. Siemens appliances are now available at exclusive brand and multi-brand stores in Bangalore, Pune, Chennai and Mumbai. It plans to expand this network to Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kochi and Mumbai.
