Simplex Infrastructure, a civil construction and engineering contractor, reported a 39 per cent decrease in net profit at Rs 11 crore in the December quarter of the current fiscal (against Rs 18 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year) on lower income from operations. Net sales were down 14 per cent at Rs 1,349 crore (Rs 1,568 crore). The order intake during the December quarter was at Rs 1,239 crore.
The order book as of December stands at Rs 15,064 crore. Simplex Infrastructure has a presence across various construction verticals, which include piling, industrial plants, power plants – thermal; nuclear; hydel; power transmission, urban infrastructures and utilities which includes metro rails; airports; urban sewerage and water systems, buildings and housing, marine ports, roads; railways; bridges and elevated road and rail corridors. Shares of the company were down 0.06 per cent at Rs 165 on Friday.
