Singareni Collieries coal output at 60.59 million tonnes

The Singareni Collieries Company Limited has produced 60.59 million tonnes of coal from its mines as on March 28 this fiscal as against output of 60.38 million tonnes during the financial year ended March 31, 2016, thereby surpassing the coal output of last year.

The State-owned mining company has dispatched 58.12 million tonnes of coal as on March 28 last year as against 60.21 MT during this fiscal as on date.

The mining company also recorded a new high of production on a single day on March 28 at 2.45 lakh tonnes as against the previous high of 2.4 lakh tonnes achieved on March 10, 2017 and dispatched 43 rakes of coal as against a previous high of 41 rakes on a single day recorded during February 28.

In its efforts to step up and sustain output, it has also achieved a new high producing about 64.48 lakh tonnes of coal so far during the month of March this year.

While lauding the efforts of the company's employees, N Sridhar, Chairman and Managing Director of SCCL, in a statement said efforts will be made to sustain the growth and achieve higher output.
