SKM Egg Products is targeting to become a model company in Japanese 5S implementation in the next two–three years.
The company, which was recently accorded the Platinum award in lean manufacturing and lean management within a year of implementation of 5S, is said to have surpassed the certificate of merit silver and gold levels.
“We are targeting to improve our egg processing efficiency every year and we understand that for achieving continuous improvement, lean management and lean manufacturing would be the way forward. The foundation for the lean is 5S, which aims to improve the work place and remove waste in any form to become lean. We are now eligible for the 5S Sustenance Award,” the company said in a release.
