Slack demand hits Ramco Cement net

Slack demand has contributed to Ramco Cements reporting a marginal drop in net profit for the third quarter of the current year, over the comparable previous quarter. Ramco Cements has reported a net profit of ₹22.96 crore (₹25.59 crore) on a revenue of ₹817.77 crore (₹870.01 crore) for the quarter ended December 31, 2014. The company expects to commission a one-million-tonne-a-year cement grinding unit in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, in April 2015. The ₹475-crore project was delayed due to the impact of cyclone Hudhud, the company said.
