Online marketplace Snapdeal.com and electric two-wheeler manufacturer Hero Electric on Monday partnered to sell the latter’s products online.

The online portal will sell new range of electric bikes on its site such as the Optima Plus, Zion, Wave Dx, Maxi and Cruz at Rs 27,950 onwards.

“We were the first ones to venture into e-selling of vehicles in the industry. Now by introducing the new range of Hero Electric bikes, we want our customers to have options which are not only pocket-friendly but also eco-friendly,” Tony Navin, Vice President-Business Development, Snapdeal.com, said.

Apart from being environment-friendly, these bikes come with a low maintenance cost and mileage up to 70 km per charge (cost around Rs 5-7 per charge) making them a cost-efficient option compared to the conventional fuel-powered two-wheelers, he said.

These bikes can be charged at home or office using the regular plug points. The battery charging time ranges between 6-8 hours.

Moreover the customers do not require a driver’s licence or registration to own and use these E-bikes.

“Consumers will be able to buy Hero Electric Bikes online easily with the same experience as would have been while visiting the nearest showroom,” Sohinder Gill, Chief Executive Officer - Global Business, Hero Electric.

This association will create synergies amid customer segments especially the youth and will further gain consumer choices, loyalty with brand uniqueness and distinctiveness, he added.
