Somany Ceramics Ltd, a leading player in the Indian ceramics industry, is targeting a sales turnover of Rs 1,000 crore in the fiscal ending March this year, Mr Shreekant Somany Chairman and Managing Director, said.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating an exclusive showroom here on Thursday which is the third in Kochi, he said the company is aiming at 20-25 per cent growth this year despite the slowdown. The company's year-on-year growth has been over 25 per cent during the past five years.
The company is also targeting the US, UK and European markets for exports. The company, which already exports its products to East and West African countries and West Asia , is looking at new markets overseas. Somany will be participating in two major fairs in Spain and Italy this year which will give the company impetus in the export market, he added.
The Kochi store will display tiles with interesting colours, design schemes and textures. The State, at present, has 6 six exclusive Somany showrooms and two more will come up at Thiruvananthapuram this year. The company has approximately 30 exclusive showrooms all over India. The objective is to open at least 10-15 showrooms every year, he said.
In Kerala, the company has a 16 per cent market share in the floor tiles segment and 18 per cent in the wall tiles space in the organised sector.
