Somany Ceramics Ltd on Friday said it will add 13 new showrooms by the end of this year to increase the number to 100, including over 50 exclusive ones.
Launching the company’s fourth exclusive showroom in Gujarat here, Shreekant Somany, Chairman and Managing Director, said the company projected to increase its turnover of Rs 923 crore in 2011-12 to Rs 1,000 crore in 2012-13.
Currently, Somany Ceramics has a capacity to manufacture 19 million square metres of ceramic tiles at its two plants at Kadi (Mehsana, Gujarat) and Kasad (Bahadurgarh, Haryana). In addition, it outsources 4 million sq metres to its two joint ventures in Morbi, Gujarat.
Somany said his company, listed on the BSE and NSE with over 4,000 shareholders, is the only one in India in this sector which has an exclusive VC range of tiles. Somany has itself developed it and patented four years ago, for use from malls to houses. This special product alone contributes Rs 100 crore worth of sales in the company’s turnover, he added.
