The Registrar of Companies, Delhi and Haryana on Thursday have given their approval for changing the name of Sona Koyo Steering Systems Ltd to JTEKT India Ltd effective April 7.
JTEKT Corporation, Japan holds a majority stake in JTEKT India Ltd. JTEKT Corporation is a Japanese multi-billion corporation with 132 subsidiaries and 22 associated companies globally.
JTEKT India is the country’s leading manufacturer of steering systems and is the supplier for major auto manufacturers, supplying steering gears and columns.
“We have been making in India for over three decades under collaboration, but now we are in India in a much bigger way. The establishment of JTEKT India Ltd is another step forward in the direction of expanding JTEKT’s global footprint,” Hidekazu Omura, Chairman, JTEKT India Ltd, said.
The company plans to expand its offerings and technology to meet the evolving paradigms of the market. The change in name is another step for the company to become part of JTEKT Group worldwide, he said.
