Sony India on Monday announced the appointment of Sunil Nayyar as its new Managing Director with effect from April 1. Nayyar will be the first Indian Managing Director of Sony India.
“In this new role, Sunil will be responsible for spearheading the overall growth and profitability of the company within the region, by driving an integrated business and marketing strategy and directing excellence in market performance across all categories,” the company said in a statement. Nayyar will replace Kenichiro Hibi, who held the position of MD of Sony India from 2012-2018. Hibi has now been appointed as President for Sony Brazil effective April 1.
