Spencer's Retail has launched its online delivery channel - www.spencers.in - here. Once, the customers buy the products online, the products would be delivered the same day, with a window of three hours, according to the company’s press release. The online channel, launched in 2016, is available across in Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi-NCR region and now in Vishakhapatnam. The retailer plans to start servicing in Lucknow as well soon.
“We are very excited to extend this service in Vishakapatnam as well," said a spokesman of the company. "India's retail market is robust and this growth has not only been witnessed in the major metropolitan cities, but is also spreading across numerous tier 1 and tier 2 locations. While Spencer’s expanding its online grocery business to new markets, and simultaneously working to improve fulfilment capabilities with more efficient customer servicing, the online food and grocery segment is strengthening its foothold within the country.”
Currently, Spencer’s runs 125 stores including 38 large-format stores across 35 cities in India. The all-India footfall is nearly 4 million per month. Spencer’s store dates back more than 150 years since the company set up its first store in Chennai in 1862.
