Air travellers from Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and five other south Indian cities have the option of flying for as little as ₹1,999 if they make their bookings with SpiceJet till June 12. As part of the monsoon sale, the journey has to be completed between July 11 and September 30 this year.
The decision comes less than 48 hours before Chennai-headquartered low cost airline, AirAsia India is to start its operations. AirAsia is globally known to offer low fares to passengers who book in advance. Kaneswaran Avili, Chief Commercial Officer, SpiceJet said, “A lean season like this is the best time to travel for guests without stretching their wallets.”
Neelu Singh, COO, Ezeego1.com said: “Other carriers are bound to follow by offering special fares on these sectors, wherein the booking period is before June 12.”
