SpiceJet is giving flyers from specific States, including Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, another opportunity to fly for as little as ₹1,859 from Tirupati to either Mumbai or Delhi and ₹1,907 from Chennai to Lucknow.
On Tuesday, the airline came up with a three-day, region-special discount offer for travel originating in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
Other discount fares are also available from Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijaywada, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tuticorin and Kolkata. An airline spokesman said the low fares were for one-way tickets.
While tickets can be booked till April 10, travel has to be completed between June 1 and July 31 this year. IndiGo, Go, Air India and Jet Airways, which previously followed SpiceJet in offering discounted fares, had not reacted to its latest offering till late in the evening.
This is the sixth discounted ticket sale SpiceJet has come up with in this calendar year. It comes less than a week after the carrier closed another discounted ticket sale that offered passengers the opportunity to fly for ₹1.
“The scheme is particularly attractive for travellers who are not bound by the need to travel during the school holidays. Young couples, singles, couples with no kids and senior citizens stand to gain by pushing their travel plans to after the peak summer season on account of these very attractive fares,” said Sharat Dhall, President, Yatra.Com.
