SpiceJet will start Kolkata to Kathmandu via Bagdogra (Kolkata-Bagdogra-Kathmandu) operations from August 13. The thrice-a-week flight will operate on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
With the introduction of this flight, SpiceJet will become the first Indian airline to operate internationally from Bagdogra in West Bengal’s Darjeeling district.
The thrice-a-week flight is in addition to the 11 weekly direct flights the company operates on the Delhi-Kathmandu route.
“This is our first international flight from West Bengal. We believe this flight will not only facilitate tourism, but (will) also be important for the growth of trade between the two neighbouring nations,” Kaneswaran Avili, Chief Commercial Officer, SpiceJet Ltd, said.
According to a release issued by SpiceJet, bookings for the Kolkata-Bagdogra-Kathmandu flight are now open.
The airline is also offering an introductory promotional fare starting from Rs 99 for Bagdogra to Kathmandu. Fares from Kolkata to Kathmandu via Bagdogra start at Rs 4,289.
