Sterlite Power has commissioned the 400KV D/C Nizamabad-Shankarapally and 400KV Maheshwarm-Mahboobnagar power transmission lines in Telangana.
These lines are integral part of the State government initiatives towards ensuring adequacy of the system to provide reliable and quality power to the consumers in the State.
Maheshwaram Transmission Ltd (MTL), a special purpose vehicle of Sterlite, has taken up work on a 226-km-long stretch under the Build, Own, Operate & Maintain mode for 35 years.
Ved Tiwari, CEO of Global Infrastructure BU, Sterlite Power, in a statement said, “The State has embarked on a timely journey to upgrade its transmission system towards meeting the projected peak load of over 21,000 MW up to FY 2018-19 and RE power of about 6,016 MW. These lines augment the power off take capacity by almost 1000 MW and should help in addressing the increase of household consumption to 3.56 units/ day in FY 2018-19.”
He added, “Specific to the project, as the existing bays were more than 15 years old and designs unavailable, our team prepared the same by physically tracing the existing scheme for integration. This resonates with our purpose – empowering humanity by addressing the toughest challenges of energy delivery.”
Sterlite Power Transmission Ltd, a leading developer of power transmission infrastructure with 13 projects of nearly 8000 circuit km spanning India and Brazil, has pioneered deployment of global technologies and innovative financing, thereby setting new benchmarks in project delivery.
Sterlite Power launched IndiGrid, the first Infrastructure Investment Trust established to own inter-State power transmission assets in India.
