Sterlite Technologies has bagged new orders valued at approximately Rs 630 crore in the fourth quarter in FY13. The orders booked were sourced from a diversified customer base with varying delivery schedules, most of which would be executed over the course of FY14. The company has secured orders worth around Rs 430 crore in the power transmission business. This includes orders for Rs 80 crore from the Power Grid Corporation for system strengthening in South India. It also includes export orders worth Rs 130 crore, making it the highest ever exports order booked in a quarter, for this segment, the company said. Of these, orders from new customers in Africa and Latin America were worth around Rs 85 crore, the company said. In the telecom business, order books for the quarter were around Rs 200 crore, which include export orders worth Rs 140 crore and pilot orders from new customers in Afghanistan, Kenya and the US.
