Strides Arcolab has received approval from the United States Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) for some of its drugs.
These drugs include Polyethylene Glycol 3350, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Potassium Chloride for Oral Solution, 420 grams/11.2 grams/5.72 grams/1.48 grams/4 Liters, the company said in a statement.
These are used for cleansing of bowels prior to colonoscopy. Polyethylene glycol 3350 is an osmotic laxative, and along with the electrolytes, the combination is used in preparation for colonoscopy in adults and paediatric patients aged six months or greater, the statement added.
According to IMS data, the US market for Polyethylene Glycol 3350, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Potassium Chloride for Oral Solution is approximately $20 million market.
At 11.45 am, the company's shares were trading up 1.31 per cent or Rs 15.80 at Rs 1,218.15 on the BSE.
