Drug firm Strides Shasun has suspended production at its API facility at Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu in accordance with Government orders.
“The company has temporarily suspended production, as directed by the government authorities,” the company said in a filing to BSE.
It added that the company is working with the authorities to resume operations at the earliest.
It said however that the facility, which makes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), has been permitted to resume operations in all manufacturing production blocks except the new production block.
“There will be no material impact on the revenue of the group during the current financial year,” the company said.
In an earlier filing Shasun had said one worker died and another was injured in a fire accident on November 16, 2015, at the new production block in the Cuddalore facility.
Shares of Strides Shasun were trading at Rs 1,386.95 per scrip, up 1.78 per cent, on BSE in the afternoon.
