Auto component maker Subros today re-opened its Manesar plant after a major fire incident in May last year.
“Subros Ltd today re-opened its Manesar plant after the fire incident which took place on May 29, 2016 severely impacting the building, plant and machinery, stocks and other assets,” the company said in a BSE filing.
After the fire, one of the company’s largest customers Maruti Suzuki India had announced that it was suspending production following disruption of supplies.
Subros provides air-conditioning compressors to Maruti Suzuki. Subros’ Manesar plant supplies over 90 per cent of its production to meet the requirements of Maruti Suzuki.
Subros re-opened the plant in the presence of R C Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, K Ayukawa, Managing Director, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Y Iida, Senior Executive Director, Thermal Group from Denso Corporation, Japan and other senior dignitaries from Maruti Suzuki and Denso.
Subros stock was trading 7.78 per cent higher at Rs 210.60 on the BSE.
