The country's largest passenger cars manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India on Thursday said it sold 98,109 units in December.
This was up 13 per cent compared with 86,613 units sold in December 2013, the company said in a statement.
The sales were largely driven by its compact segment (Swift, Ritz, Celerio and Dzire) with 41,532 units sold during the month compared with 33,766 units sold in the same period previous year.
However, sales of mini segment (Alto and WagonR) fell around 10 per cent year-on-year to 34,625 units (versus 38,286 units).
