Taj Vivanta launches spa resort at Bekal

The architectural style of the spa resort is inspired by the Kettuvallam house boats that are unique to this region.

Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces today announced the opening of the new spa resort in northern Kerala, the Vivanta by Taj-Bekal. This new property is the fifth hotel in Kerala under Vivanta by Taj brand.

Speaking on the launch of the new hotel, Mr Raymond N. Bickson, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Indian Hotels Company Limited, said: “In our 110-year history, The Taj Group of Hotels continues its journey towards discovering unexplored destinations and adding them to the tourism circuits of India. We are proud to introduce The Vivanta by Taj, Bekal, a resort and spa destination and our fifth Vivanta property in Kerala.”

Ms Deepa Misra Harris, Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing said, “Vivanta by Taj is the newest brand in the Taj portfolio and we are proud to announce its opening in Bekal – a picturesque and delightful destination, waiting to be discovered.”

This sprawling 25-acre resort is located in the Kasargod district in northern Kerala. Nestled in the midst of a rustic environment, it is located on the meandering Kerala backwaters and Kappil River. The architectural style of Vivanta by Taj - Bekal is inspired by the Kettuvallam house boats that are unique to this region.

Speaking on the launch of the hotel, Mr Veer Vijay Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Vivanta by Taj – Hotels and Resorts said, “We are happy to welcome our guests to the Vivanta experience.
