Tata Capital today said it has inked an MoU to form a joint venture company with Groupe Aeroplan Inc, a Canadian loyalty marketing company, to launch a multi-party coalition loyalty programme in India.
“Indian consumerism has evolved manifold over the last decade and offers significant potential for a coalition loyalty programme. Realising this potential requires an established global player which has the necessary expertise and proven track-record in managing successful loyalty programmes across geographies,” Tata Capital Managing Director and CEO, Mr Praveen P Kadle said in a statement here.
The loyalty programme will be modelled on the lines of Nectar, which is Groupe Aeroplan’s coalition loyalty program in the UK and Italy.
This programme retains the initial objectives of `Empower’, India’s first multi-brand coalition loyalty program, which was launched by Tata Sons in 2006, the statement said.
Groupe Aeroplan is already in active discussions with a number of companies both within and outside the Tata Group, to join its loyalty programme, Groupe Aeroplan Chief Executive Officer for USA and Asia-Pacific, Mr Jeff Balagna, said.
“We have immense faith in the Indian market and its potential for growth. We also look forward to making several exciting announcements in the near future,” Groupe Aeroplan’s Managing Director for India, Mr Akash Sahai, said.
