Tata Metaliks Ltd (TML), a foundry grade pig iron and ductile iron pipes manufacturer, on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to set up a skill development centre in Paschim Midnapore. The MoU was signed with the Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development (PBSSD) in the presence of Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee; and Industry and Finance Minister, Amit Mitra. As per the MoU, the skill development centre will will train 1,000-1,200 youth annually through a reputed National Skill Development Corporation-approved training partner in vocational courses. The initial focus will be on plumbing, electrician, carpentry, beauty & wellness, hospitality and security courses, the company said in a release.
