PT Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia (TMDI), a wholly owned subsidiary of India’s Tata Motors, has launched three new passenger vehicles in the Indonesian market. This marks Tata Motors' foray into that country.
Tata Motors has launched its multi-purpose vehicle Aria, hatchback Vista and sports utility vehicle Safari Storme in the country, it said in a statement.
“Since we made the announcement to enter this market a year back, we have tested various products across Indonesian terrain and are convinced that we are bringing in the right product mix, offering smart solutions for mobility to our Indonesian customers,” said Tata Motors’ Managing Director, Karl Slym.
The company has started its foray with five dealers in the country and intends to introduce four more by December. Tata Motors would have a total of 15 dealerships by March 2014.
The company would also set up about 40 additional workshops by March next year.
