Tata Motors has introduced an exchange scheme for owners of Nano car, under which an existing owner can exchange his/her vehicle for a GenX Nano that comes with an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).

The company is gearing up to launch GenX Nano with revised styling, AMT gearbox and open tailgate, among other features.

Nano owners will be offered the “best market price” for their old cars and a special bonus of ₹20,000, under the exchange scheme — Power of 1+1. Additionally, Nano customers can also enroll for a referral programme that could help them win a cash prize of ₹5,000 for every referral, the company said in a statement. “A trait common to Nano customers has been their loyalty to the product and we have seen many repeat purchases and hence this special scheme. This product has been the most awaited car and we are pleased to reward the existing customers by offering them the first opportunity to own this smart city car,” said Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit at Tata Motors.

The company is yet to announce the launch date of GenX Nano, while the industry sources expect it to “very soon”.

On purchase of every GenX Nano under the exchange programme, Tata Motors will make a donation to Child Rights and You (CRY) on behalf of the customer and contribute towards the retention of girl children in school for a year.
