Tata Motors’ total sales of passenger and commercial vehicles (including exports) rose 6 per cent to 46,674 vehicles in February, compared with 44,233 units sold during the same month a year ago.
The domestic sale of commercial and passenger vehicles rose 3 per cent to 41,532 units (40,322 vehicles in February 2015), while cumulative sales (including exports) for the fiscal rose 2 per cent to 458,654 units (449,814 vehicles), the company said in a statement.
In the commercial vehicles segment, Medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) sales rose 22 per cent to 14,872 vehicles, while small commercial vehicle grew 10 per cent to 15,698 units.
Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were at 288,895 units, higher by 1 per cent over last year. Cumulative LCV sales are at 150,472 vehicles, a 13 per cent fall over last year, while M&HCV sales rose 23 per cent to 138,423 units.
During the reporting month, Tata Motors passenger vehicles sales fell 20 per cent to 10,962 units, while wholesales of passenger cars in fell 21 per cent to 9,284 vehicles.
