Tata Motors global wholesales of vehicles fell 16.57 per cent to 1, 16,521 units in March, compared with 1, 39,655 vehicles sold during the same month a year ago.
The wholesale numbers, defined as despatches from factory to dealers end and not to customers, also include that of its luxury brand Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).
The cumulative wholesales for the financial year stood at 11,96,416 units, down 4.45 per cent from 12,52,173 units sold in March 2012, the company said in a statement.
The company sold 60,799 units of commercial vehicles – Tata, Tata Daewoo and Tata Hispano Carrocera range – during the month under review. The cumulative commercial vehicles wholesales for the fiscal stood at 5,95,416 units.
The global passenger vehicle wholesales stood at 55,722 units, while cumulative passenger vehicles wholesales for the fiscal were at 6,01,000.
The company sold 42,682 Jaguar Land Rover vehicles in March and 3,72,062 vehicles on a cumulative basis for the year, it said.
Jaguar sold 7,621 vehicles during the month, while cumulative wholesales stood at 57,812 vehicles. Land Rover wholesales for the month were at 35,061 units and cumulative wholesales at 3,14,250 vehicles.
