Tata Motors global sales up 26% in March

Tata Motors has reported a 26 per cent increase in global sales to 1,39,655 units in March over the year ago period.

For FY12, sales were up 16 per cent at 12,52,173 units, the company said in a statement.

Global sales of all commercial vehicles — Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range — rose 12 per cent to 63,791 units. Cumulative sales for the fiscal rose 17 per cent to 5,99,927 units.

Passenger vehicles sales increased 41 per cent to 75,864 units. For the fiscal, sales were 14 per cent up at 652,246 units.

Global sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution offtake in India of Fiat cars were up 32 per cent at 39,393 units. For FY12, the company posted a 3 per cent growth at 337,813 units.

Jaguar Land Rover sales in March were at 36,471 vehicles, up 51 per cent.

Jaguar sales were 5,343 units, 42 per cent higher, while Land Rover sales were at 31,128 vehicles (up 53 per cent).

For FY12, Jaguar Land Rover sales were at 314,433 units, higher by 29 per cent. Sales of Jaguar were 54,039 units, higher by 2 per cent, while cumulative sales of Land Rover were 260,394, higher by 37 per cent.
