Tata Motors today reported a 15 per cent increase in total sales at 74,159 units in July this year.
The company’s domestic sales of commercial and passenger vehicles for the month grew by 18 per cent to 68,627 units against 57,990 units in July last year.
Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 42,387 units in July 2012 compared to 40,798 units sold in July last year, up 4 per cent, it said in a statement.
Light commercial vehicle sales were at 29,601 units, a growth of 19 per cent from 24,962 units sold in July last year, it added.
Medium and heavy vehicle sales stood at 12,786 units, down 19 per cent from 15,836 units.
Passenger vehicles sales were higher by 53 per cent at 26,240 units against 17,192 units sold in the same month last year, it added.
Sales of the Nano were at 5,485 units, up 68 per cent over 3,260 units in July last year.
Sales of the Indica range were higher by 51 per cent at 8,852 vehicles, compared to 5,860 units sold in the same month last year.
The Indigo range recorded sales of 6,816 units, up 40 per cent, against 4,877 units in the year-ago period.
Sales of the Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture were at 5,087 units in July, up 59 per cent from 3,195 units in the same month last year, the statement said.
The company’s exports in July declined by 15 per cent to 5,532 units from 6,512 units in the same month last year.
