Admitting that the prevailing economic slowdown has had its “impact” on Tata Motors, the company’s Jamshedpur plant head A B Lall has expressed confidence that the 2.5 millionth heavy commercial vehicle would be rolled out soon.
Lall said the performance during the last fiscal and the quarter this year has “clearly exhibited the impact of the slowdown.”
Calling on the employees to take austerity measures to face the prevailing economic scenario, he said the current economic slowdown is more serious than what it was in 2008.
Lall emphasised the need for quality, cost and new product introduction to face the current scenario as well as to maintain its market share.
