Tata Motors announced on Friday that it will soon launch a new version of the original Tata Indica, which meets Bharat Stage IV emission norms. The Indica was discontinued from the 13 major cities after the new emission norms were enforced from April 1 last year. However, the Indica Vista is continued to be sold by the company with BS IV engines.
“The Indica will soon become India's most fuel efficient car with an all new, BS4 compliant, CR4 diesel engine. The car will also have a host of other exciting features,” it said in a statement. The company added that the new engine will produce 32 per cent more power, 65 per cent more torque along with a 46 per cent improvement on fuel efficiency. “It would rev up to 70 PS power @ 4000 RPM and delivers 140 Nm torque at 1800-3000 RPM,” it said.
