Tata Motors’ global sales increased by 14 per cent to 1,02,411 units in February on robust demand for both commercial and passenger vehicles, over the same month previous fiscal.
Sales of luxury brands from Jaguar Land Rover stood at 21,653 units in February, up 26 per cent from the same period a year ago, Tata Motors said in a statement today.
While the sales of luxury sedans of Jaguar brand declined by two per cent to 3,213 units, Land Rover sales jumped by 33 per cent to 18,440.
The company said total passenger vehicles sales stood at 55,664 units in February 2011, a growth of 18 per cent from the corresponding month last fiscal.
Global sales of all commercial vehicles — Tata, Tata Daewoo and Tata Hispano Carrocera range — stood at 46,747 units, up by 10 per cent.
During April-February, total (global) vehicle sales rose 26 per cent to 9,70,129 units. While total passenger vehicle sales increased by 27 per cent to 5,14,681 units, commercial vehicle sales jumped 25 per cent to 4,55,448 units during the period.
