In order to improve the quality of life of the communities living around its area of operation, Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd (CGPL), a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Power, developing the 4,000 MW Mundra UMPP, said it has installed mobile toilets at Tragadi Bunder for the fishermen community’s benefit.
This initiative was organised under the ‘Project Arogya’ programme being implemented by CGPL to provide hygienic and clean sanitation to the inhabitants of Tragadi Bunder and engage its fisherman community. The company has sensitised fishermen about these health and hygiene-related issues.
Three mobile toilet units consisting of 21 toilets and 15 bathrooms have been installed and will be maintained by the community, said K. K. Sharma, Chief, Mundra Project, in a release here.
CGPL is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed for setting up and operating the 4,000 MW Mundra UMPP. It has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with seven procurers (distribution licensees) from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab for the sale of contracted capacity. The first unit of the Mundra Power Project, India’s first UMPP, is close to commissioning.
