To curb the wastage of energy and spread awareness about energy and resource conservation, Club Enerji, Tata Power’s movement spearheaded by school children, claims to have sensitised around 1,26,675 citizens, saving over 7,93,585 units of energy in Delhi.
“The units saved are equivalent to saving around 794 tonnes of CO2 emissions, which is more than enough to light up 372 houses,” the company said in a release.
The sensitisation activities include rallies, street plays and public addresses during festivals such as Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratra, etc.
“Tata Power Club Enerji is active in 11 cities — Mumbai, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Pune, Jamshedpur, Lonavla, Belgaum, Ranchi, Haldia, Bangalore, Kolkata and Maithon, the release added.
