Tata Steel has registered its best-ever half-yearly output in flat products category (used mainly for automotive and white goods) at 2.81 million tonnes in H1 FY’14. The previous best half-yearly figure was 2.72 mt, recorded in H2 FY’13.
Tata Steel had said in a note on Monday that its overall saleable steel production increased by 18 per cent to 2.2 mt y-o-y in Q2. In the first-half, it grew 21 per cent y-o-y to 4.35 mt. Deliveries were 2.03 mt in Q2, up 18 per cent y-o-y and 4.04 mt in H1, up 22 per cent y-o-y.
The company said hot metal production of 2.46 mt in Q2 was up by 19 per cent y-o-y. Hot metal production at 4.93 mt in H1 was up 20 per cent.
