Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company Tecpro Systems Ltd has secured a Balance of Plant package valued at Rs 197.98 crore from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd.
The company’s order book has seen a healthy growth in the first half of the current fiscal compared to the same period last year and is confident of maintaining the growth momentum.
In a statement to the stock exchanges, Tecpro Systems said that it would supply equipment and materials for the BoP package on a turnkey basis for the 160-MW gas-based combined power project stage-IV (RCCPP) in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
Amul Gabrani, Vice-Chairman & MD, Tecpro Systems, said that it has witnessed significant improvement in order inflow in the current year and has booked orders worth Rs 1,409 crore in the first half of the current fiscal compared with Rs 837 crore order booked during the same half last year. The total order flow till date was Rs 1,610 crore.
He is confident of converting the enquiries across its business segments into orders, improving the order book position further.
“We are optimistic of revival in this (power) sector,” the company says, referring to “the slew of measures recently announced by the government’’.
(These include steps to ease the supply of coal and a package to restructure the loans of the state-owned electricity utilities.)
Chennai-headquartered Tecpro Systems is basically into material handling systems and supplies a range of products and services such as coal and ash handling plants and conveyor belt systems.
In 2011-12, the company achieved a turnover of Rs 2,529 crore and made a net profit of Rs 125 crore. Each share earned Rs 24.75. In the first quarter of the current year, the company’s turnover was Rs 558 crore and net profit Rs 7.04 crore. Each share earned Rs 1.39.
On the BSE today, the Tecpro Systems shares opened at Rs 158.50 and rose to Rs 160 after the announcement of the order win.
