“There is a need to build a care inclusive living model for seniors,” said Col Achal Sridharan, Managing Director of Covai Care.
Addressing a seminar on ‘Trends and Challenges in elder care’, Col Sridharan said “With longevity, people spent a third of their life after retirement and while designing solutions to them, one must keep in mind the need to integrate care.”
The seminar focused on the need to integrate care to living solutions and the need to create an inclusive society that would address needs of elders including elders with special children.
Krishnan Ganesh, Chairman Portea spoke on the rise of elder care as an industry and the need for funding the requirements. He said that the surging elder population in India posed a challenge and opportunity to the policy makers.
Ganesh presented various investment opportunities in this sunrise industry.
Adarsh Narahari– Managing director of Mantri Primus spoke about perceptions and realities in elder care.
District Governor RI District 3190 Rtn Suresh Hari was the chief guest. A book on ageing and care was launched during this seminar. Hari informed the audience about various initiatives of the Rotary specific to District 3190 and the commitment to the cause of care.
A topic on loneliness in elders was presented by Vineet Verma, CEO Brigade Hospitality Services.
