Energy and environment major Thermax has bagged a Rs 1,700-crore order from a petrochemical company for the supply of nine circulating fluidised bed combustion high pressure boilers of 500 TPH each for two of its plants.
To be commissioned within 24-29 months, the boilers, that will use petcoke and coal as fuel will generate steam for process and power generation. Petcoke is essentially a refinery waste and has high heat value and low ash content.
Using fourth generation CFBC technology, the boilers will burn these multiple fuels to achieve high levels of temperature control and low down time for maintenance, Thermax has said.
