Bearings and alloy steel component maker Timken India Ltd has reported an improved performance, both in terms of revenue and profit, in the quarter to March 31, 2012, against the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
It made a net profit of Rs 18.01 crore on a net sales of Rs 170.99 crore, against a net of Rs 6.66 crore and net sales of Rs 166.43 crore recorded in the December quarter.
In the March quarter last year, it had registered a net profit Rs 22.98 crore on a net sales of Rs 165.21 crore.
Timken India had earlier informed BSE that the Board of Directors decided to change the accounting year of the company from calendar year (January to December) to financial year (April to March).
